How CUTE are these? Galen (#51) turns these vintage vanity tables into sparkling new bench seats - complete with storage and a cushion. I would love to have one in my room. .. and he makes them in his & hers colors.

Overt your eyes. This swingin' sexy vintage rain lamp jumped right out of grandma's parlor and into House of Vintage. Fully operational, clean and with red light bulb to add extra sultry appeal to your decor. Crystal clear goddess in the center of the piece is bound to be a topic of conversation. For sale at $199.

Adam & Bess do House of Vintage

Spotted these cuties doing some shopping at House of Vintage the other day. Adam is (now) a Portland local, having moved here recently from Minnesota (he has the accent to prove it); and Bess was visiting him from Wisconsin. The two were cruising the store looking for records, and Bess was holding onto a copy of Cosmos Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Check out this amazing crushed velvet loveseat from dealer number 53. This beauty is super saturated with rich color and is in impeccable condition. A must-have for any lounge.

House of Style-Kathy

It's well known our customers are the finest dressed bunch around. When I stopped by House of Vintage on a cold, rainy morning I spotted Kathy.

It may be Spring somewhere, but I can tell you, today in Portland it is cold and rainy. How perfect are her layers? Dang, she's so gifted at layering and pulling off a flannel, you'd swear she's from the Northwest.

Where are you from?: San Francisco and visiting on business to launch a North Face outlet in Woodburn, OR.
What are you looking for?: Holds up a red windbreaker with a white zipper and said, "This!"
How did she hear about us?: Shopping on Hawthorne and drawn in by our window display

Devistatingly Cute Desk/Bench

Sorry, I saw this mini desk/bench by the register at space #3 today and nearly died of cute. If you don't have much space and need a little workspace, this is perfect for $45.

I walked through the store to day and was blown away by the number of amazing dress forms in store from dealer #17 from $70-195. What lucky clothing designer or interior decorator will be the fine recipient of these babies?

New Dealer Profile-#22

Welcome new dealers Eric and Matt in space #22. I found them putting a fresh coat of paint on a forgotten corner of the store. They are sure to revitalize what was unused space. I love the color, fellas!

They'll be carrying all sorts of vintage gear, clothes and goodies from decades past. Can't wait to get dibs on some cool stuff. Come check out their new space.

Dealer #35 - Clint and The New Independents

Meet Clint, possibly the nicest guy on the block. He has space #35 (go in the West door, and it's about 50 feet in on your left). His space is super-delicious-vintage-deluxe, and remarkably cozy. (If I hadn't had more errands to run, I would have likely holed up in his spot and taken my afternoon siesta.)

Featured item from Clint is this fabulous 50's, down-stuffed, pink couch. Straight from your grandma's parlor, right? As Clint says, this beauty is just waiting for the right pink person to come snag her up...for the killer price of $100.




And, it gets better! Clint has a band called The New Independents. You can find these guys at TheNewIndependents.com, or listen to them on their MySpace site. They play various shows around town (next show is March 21 at Golden Lanes in Goldendale, WA; and then they play Portland on March 28 at Cheers), and they will be playing at the Hawthorne Street Fair in August...this means you can shop at House of Vintage and hear The New Indpendents all in one sweet, summer trip.

Who knew that the style consultant on America's #1 heart tugging reality show loves House of Vintage? Yep, it's true. When it comes to style, HOV's got it for miles. We're glad Tracy's got her eye on us.
