Sadie and I (Kristin) have been happily administrating the HOV blog for nearly a year now. We've been stocking up ye olde Tiger Shop vintage for nearly 2 years. (holy cow, time flies!). The time has come to say goodbye. We're both moving on to different states but still carrying our passion for clothes, style and fashion with us like a torch. Sadie's continuing on her online etsy shop in California, sadieDELUXE. Kristin's off Parsons in New York City to make some fancy duds.

In celebration we've decided to have a big BIG SALE. Most everything is 30% to 50% off! Everything must go! Time to liquidate the goods to welcome in the new.

Take Some Time, Write a Letter

We live in the age of blogs, cell phones, and twitter. Word travels faster than we can keep up. Take some hints from the slow media movement. Go back to 1985 and make a call to your grandma on a land line. Or rent a VHS for your non-cable ready television. Or how about taking it back to 1945 and type a letter to a friend. HOV has a ton of handsome antique typewriters for your slow media diet. Yummm....media.

Holidays Around the Corner

The cold snapped down on us like never before. It's the beginning of December and we're suddenly and undeniably headlong into winter. And there's nothing like preparing to warm your homes, lawns and stoops full of cheer. For those of the Christmas persuasion, there's plenty of St. Nick charm to go around. Check out these illuminated lawn decorations that'll keep your neighbors up all night. Take inspiration from one of my Christmas heroes:

Food Cartopia + HOV

Portlanders are mad about food carts. That's a a fact. At 2am you'll find late night food carts packed grubbin' on pasta, burritos, fried pies and poutin. It seems like on every corner there's a new cart popping up. As for our neck of the woods on 33rd and Hawthorne, we've been courting a fancy little Mexican food cart called NEZA around the corner parking lot for some time. Looks like they've made the leap front and center of HOV. Grab and burrito and some vintage while you're at it!
